Delta Dental Basics
Delta Dental plans are all unique agreements between you, your employer (in most cases), and Delta Dental. Before we give any estimates, we’ll really need to review your specific plan. However, there are some basics shared by the majority of Delta Dental plans, including:
- Premiums – the monthly fee you and/or your employer pay for your benefit plan
- Maximums – the largest amount Delta Dental will pay for your dentistry services in one plan year
- Covered percentage – the amount of Delta’s fair and average price for any one treatment that will be covered by your benefit plan
- Out of pocket percentage – the amount of the cost of your dental treatment you’re responsible for covering
Benefits of In-Network Dental Care
Delta Dental offers the largest network of providers, and we’re proud to be one of the many in-network dental practices in the Marietta area. Because we’re in-network with Delta Dental, we have established contracts to ensure you will only ever have to pay the out of pocket percentage of your treatment costs. Out of network practices do not have established contracts with Delta Dental, so they can charge fees that may be higher than Delta’s fair and average pricing for specific treatments. You’ll be responsible for the difference in price as well as the out of pocket percentage of treatment. In most cases, this difference in price is negligible, but even a small difference in price can add up. An in-network provider ensures you’ll always have the lowest out of pocket costs.
Preventive Dental Care
Visiting the dentist every six months for dental checkups is the easiest way to ensure you receive your maximum benefits form Delta Dental. They create their plans with a focus on prevention because this means patients’ smiles stay healthy, and the risk for advanced dental damage or decay is significantly reduced. Every Delta Dental plan is unique to you, but the majority of plans provide 100% coverage for preventive dental care. When you visit our office every six months, you’ll receive the maximum coverage and maintain your healthiest smiles.
