Sedation Dentistry

At Elite Dentistry, your comfort comes first. We understand that many patients experience dental anxiety. It’s a common condition that affects an estimated 40 million Americans. But dental phobia is treatable. Dr. Clemans is a DOCS-certified sedation dentist with advanced training in modern sedation techniques. She offers nitrous oxide ("laughing gas") oral and IV conscious sedation to alleviate anxiety and deliver a relaxing, stress-free dental care experience. Dr. Clemans is one of the few general dentists in Georgia certified by the state to administer IV sedation.

Sedation dentistry lets Dr. Clemans complete numerous procedures in a minimal number of appointments, alleviate anxiety, and provide patients the opportunity to achieve beautiful smiles and lasting oral health. People travel to our office from across the state and beyond to experience the soothing effects of sedation dentistry.

Oral Conscious Sedation: With this sedation method, you simply take a commonly prescribed sedative prior to your appointment. Once you enter a state of complete mental and physical relaxation, Dr. Clemans will perform your procedures. She can potentially complete numerous treatments in a single session to complete your dental work in as few visits as possible.

Nitrous Oxide ("laughing gas"): Nitrous oxide offers an experience of total tranquility in which you can converse with our staff and express your needs while Dr. Clemans turns back the clock on your smile.

IV Conscious Sedation: This form of sedation is the deepest that Dr. Clemans offers and is administered directly into the bloodstream. In most cases, patients aren’t asleep, but are in "twilight" and they are completely unaware of the dental work being performed. Many patients feel so relaxed that they doze off.

Our highly trained staff will use advanced technology to monitor your vital signs throughout your sedation dentistry appointment. The effects of oral and IV sedation diminish gradually and leaves patients with no memory of treatment details. Most patients resume normal activities the day following their sedation dentistry appointment.
