Jane
Jane Stephanchick, RDH is happy to explain the basics of daily home
dental care and why it's very important to your overall health. Because
she experienced poor dental health as a child, educating others has
become a priority. In addition to the cleanings and education she provides
in the office, she visits kindergarten classrooms during National Dental
Health Month. She is dedicated to staying current on new products and
procedures, being a resource for patients and working together to individualize
treatment and home care plans.
"As a young child I was put to bed with a bottle, ate lots of
sugar, and had poor oral hygiene, which led to decay and premature loss
of primary teeth. I learned the hard way about the value of good dental
health and now strive to teach prevention to others. I regularly visit
kindergarten classes and talk about why teeth are important, how to
care for them, what to expect from a dental visit, and the importance
of good nutrition."
Jane graduated in 1980 from Owens Technical College in Toledo, Ohio
with an associate degree in applied science with a major in dental hygiene.
She has 4 years experience in pediatric dentistry and 18 years in general
dentistry. She moved to Georgia in 1991.
She works hard at keeping in touch with the latest developments in
dentistry. Jane has been an active learner, dating back to 1994 when
she attended the annual Dental Hygiene Symposium in Savannah, sponsored
by the Medical College of Georgia.
She has been married 21 years and has a son T.L., 14 and daughter Kara,
7. She is a Brownie Girl Scout Troop Leader, a Sunday school teacher
and a part of Care Ministry.
